J.C. Tran

J.C.Tran Poker Profile

World-renowned poker player J.C. Tran was born in Vietnam on January 20, 1977.  Born Justin Cuong Van Tran and later adopting the nickname J.C., he was born as the eighth and youngest child of his parents.  Now, based in Sacramento, California, J.C. Tran has established not only a productive and lucrative poker career, but he is also established as a graduate from one of the California State Universities, with a degree in Business Management Information Systems.  The knowledge he has been able to amass in part from his college education has been able to serve him well in a variety of arenas, but most notably in the field of poker.  The Vietnamese-American poker player has had a very profitable career to date, with his live tournament earnings exceeding 2 million dollars.  Considering he has only been in the professional poker circuit for a few years, this is a very incredible career thus far.

Not only does J.C. Tran enjoy his poker career, but he also has other hobbies as well, including hip hop and electronica music that he favors listening to.  Enjoying being single and the clubs and parties that go along with the single scene, J.C. Tran also enjoys sports and other similar activities.  Not deterred by other interests, J.C. Tran leads a very productive poker career, and was even able to place first in the 2005 World Series of Poker Tournament Circuit at the Rio in Las Vegas.  His rank for Player of the Year is currently 14th, but he was ranked as high as twelfth in 2004.  This social encouragement is part of what helps keep J.C. Tran focused and in control of his future.

So far, making good on his promise to be a top player to watch, on October 1, 2006, J.C. Tran placed first in the World Championship of Online Poker in the category of No Limit Hold’em.  He won the event, which took over twelve hours to complete, and was able to take home over six hundred thousand dollars in prize money.  Over 2,500 players had entered, but J.C. Tran came through to win the coveted gold WCOOP No Limit Hold’em championship bracelet.  The main event of the championship offered the winner over six million dollars as the grand prize.  This championship is one of the largest in the world and attracts players from over 89 countries in the world.

J.C. Tran promises to continue to be one of the more interesting players to watch in years to come.  He learned all about poker through teaching himself and other opponents in Sacramento card rooms.  Self-reliant and shifty at times, J.C. Tran is an exciting player to watch.  The games he favors include no limit hold’em poker, as well as pot-limit Omaha, and one of his most recent cash events included No-Limit Hold’em Event 9, where he was able to cash in over $41,000.  Being successful is important to J.C. Tran, because he has big plans not only for his future, but for that of the world, as well.

In addition to being so successful at poker, J.C. Tran also has aspirations for world peace.  He is very interested in giving to charity and looks hopefully toward the possibility of the world one day uniting and promoting this peace.  J.C. Tran is a very deep and powerful person, in addition to being a very strategic and challenging opponent when it comes to the world of poker.  These aspects about his personality are part of what makes J.C. Tran not only such an interesting player for spectators to watch, but also makes him a very interesting player for opponents to go up against.
