Mac Poker Sites
Reviews of Mac Poker Sites
Online
While PC users dominate the world over, online poker
rooms have realized there is a demand for Mac
compatible poker sites. While the numbers aren’t
overwhelming, because of the security and appearance
of the Mac and its user-friendly tag, the numbers are
growing.
So where can you play online poker with your Mac?
There aren’t many mac poker sites, but some have
popped up – including one that was designed
specifically with the Mac in mind.
Mac Poker Site #1.)
Poker
Room – It is reported that this site is the
original site that was developed by Mac user, with a
direct Mac interface.
Mac Poker Site #2.)
Hollywood Poker – Hollywood Poker offers a
Java based no download Mac version of their client.
Hollywood poker’s Mac version offers great game
selection as well as a sizeable bonus for signing up.
It also lives up to its names by offering players a
chance to play with their main celebrity endorser,
James Woods.
Mac Poker Site #3.)
Full Tilt Poker – Full Tilt Poker recently
released their much awaited downloadable Mac version
to the public. Mac users everywhere are praising the
user friendly interface and many features. The Full
Tilt Poker Mac version features hand histories, player
notes and much more all with the Mac user in mind.
For those of you who just aren’t willing to give up
your Macintosh computer system just to play a few
hands of poker, there is still a way for you to play
some of the top poker sites on the Internet.
VirtualPC is downloadable software from many of these
PC-friendly sites that allow Mac users to pretend they
own a PC while they lay hands down with the rest of
the computing world. Each site seems to have a
different version of their own software, or they are
run on different platforms because of various
performance issues related to each site.
Some sites, like
PokerStars and
PartyPoker have users that report excellent
interface with the Mac using the VirtualPC.
The question remains whether or not the Mac is, or has
become a mainstream tool for Internet browsers and
therefore Internet Poker players. Statistic say that
20% of personal computers are Mac operating systems
(1998), but it hasn’t been figured out the percentage
of those people who actually play online poker.
The only hope for Mac users and their quest for more
mac poker sites, is to keep waiting. Mainstream poker
sites are realizing the demand for Mac interface, but
to this point it hasn’t been a pressing concern.
